Local Business Gives a Car Away – North County – Watch her Reaction!

3rd Annual Car Giveaway Program

Centric Auto Repair has generously donated a vehicle as part of their 3rd annual Car Giveaway program which is designed to help a local families, and give back to the community.

Car ownership has the power to improve daily life, build stronger families as parents are able to take an active role in their children’s lives. Children thrive due to increased educational opportunities and activities, such as after-school tutoring or athletic programs which the boys and girls club has provided for years.

Kara Aragon director of operations from the Boys and Girls club of San Marcos directed the auto repair shop to Isabel who is a single mother of two Boys, she has a 17 years old son and 8 years old son Mathew who also had the opportunity to participate in the parade on the Kiwanis float this year. Isabel’s family has suffered server financial hardship, among other issues and is currently displaced without a vehicle of their own. The car was presented to Isabel and her family and the end of Kiwanis holiday parade as a gift from Centric Auto Repair.

When relying on public transit, families may spend multiple hours per day on their commute alone. Owning a vehicle allows families to shorten their commutes tremendously, resulting in more time to pursue meaningful time and activities together.

The Car Giveaway Program takes a team to accomplish this task. They fist step is to receive a retired vehicle from a donor. This is usually from someone who no longer has interest or the repairs exceed what the person wants to spend on the car. The donor will receive a donation write-off receipt for their taxes. After the donation, Centric Auto invests in all parts and labor necessary to keep recipients safe on the road. When the car is completed and ready, a local family is chosen with the help of a local non profit like The Boys & Girls Club. The recipient must include a family with kids and must own no vehicles. Other Organizations involved, Kiwanis Club San Marcos , SBRG Referral Group.

Obtaining reliable transportation is an effective vehicle for elevating low-income families out of poverty by increasing options for healthcare, childcare, and employment, also helps protect children from every day elements like rain and extreme heat making it easier to get to school daily.
